IR Choose Maxim for Ownership Maintenance Training Programme

We have been awarded the contract to deliver International Rectifiers brand new programme aimed at up-skilling their current Operator workforce to enable them to carry our First line Maintenance activities. International Rectifier is a world leader in power management technology. They are leading manufacturers of computers, energy efficient appliances, lighting, automobiles, satellites, aircraft and defence systems rely on IR’s power management benchmarks to power their next-generation products. IR’s innovative technologies add value to their customers’ designs by reducing power consumption, improving performance and simplifying the development of a wide range of applications and they are looking to enhance their business performance by utilising their current workforce abilities to achieve their aim.

We will be running two day events with the intention of ensuring the operators not only understand but will be able to carry out Minor Maintenance activities therefore freeing up the Engineering Departments time, enabling them to carry out Condition Based Monitoring and Preventive Maintenance work. The content of the training is:

Health & Safety Considerations

  • Safe Use of Hand Tools to include Allen Keys, Spanners, Screwdrivers, Sockets and Multi-meter (Imperial and Metric)
  • Stored Energy (Electrical & Pneumatic)
  • Understanding the Electricity at Work Act
  • Pneumatics and the Potential Dangers
  • Safety Lock and Tag Out
  • Authorisation to carry Out Maintenance Activities
  • Understanding IR’s Permit to Work Procedures

Practical Application on International Rectifier Supplied Equipment

  • Problem Solving & Fault Finding
  • Correct Use of Allen Keys, Screwdrivers and Spanners
  • Correct Removal and Alignment of Pulleys, Guide Rails, Shafts and Bearings
  • Strip-down Methods and Re-assembly
  • Record Keeping/Traceability
  • Types of Solenoids/Cylinders
  • Understanding the Difference between Metric and Imperial Systems
  • Understanding Pinch Points
